All Heritage Finance Holdings Visa cards are registered for Visa secure. Visa secure is a service that will let you use an One Time Password (OTP) with your Visa card, giving you added assurance that only you can use your Visa card to make purchases over the Internet.

If a merchant participates in Visa secure, a pop-up window will be displayed, in order for you to enter your OTP. Your OTP will then be verified and your payment authorised. In online stores that are not yet participating in Visa secure, your Visa card will work as normal.

You will need to make sure we have your up to date mobile phone number, to allow us to send your OTP.

What is Visa secure?

Visa secure is a service that will let you use an OTP with your Visa card, giving you added assurance that only you can use your Visa card to make purchases over the Internet.

How does Visa secure work?

Visa secure provides you with an One Time Password (OTP) to protect your online transactions, just like you use your PIN at an ATM. Here are the steps:

  • Select the goods or services you want from a Visa secure online store and proceed to the payment page.
  • Enter your Visa card number and the online store connects with Heritage Finance Holdings to check whether your card is secured with Visa secure. Heritage Finance Holdings initiates a pop-up window on your computer screen and sends an OTP to your mobile.
  • Enter your OTP in the window.  Your payment is authorised and your order is placed. It’s that simple!

How do I register my Visa card?

All Heritage Finance Holdings Visa cards are registered. You will need to make sure we have your up to date mobile phone number, to allow us to send your OTP.

My spouse and I both have the same Visa account. How does Visa secure work for the two of us?

Visa secure still works for both of you. You’ll each need to ensure we have your mobile phone number loaded for each cardholder on your account.

What do I need to do to use Visa secure?

Have an active Visa card. Have a registered mobile number.

I received a new Visa card. Do I need to do anything to register my new card?

No, as long as your mobile number is up to date, Visa secure will still work with your new card. 

Where can I shop with Visa secure?

Look for the Visa secure mark on participating online stores.

How will the online store know that I have Visa secure?

Participating online stores will automatically recognise your Visa card number if you have registered it for Visa secure.

Does Visa secure work on my mobile and tablets?

Yes, the OTP entry screen is designed to work on mobile screens and tablets.
Shopping Tips

  1. Use a secure web browser 
    Use a secure browser - look for an "s" after the "http" in the web page address or URL.

  2. Keep your One Time Password secret 
    Never disclose your One Time Password and only enter your OTP into the pop-up box.

  3. Use the internet to compare between shops before buying online 
    Compare products and prices before you buy - click around to find your item at the best price.

  4. Protect your card details 
    Only give your Visa card details when making purchases - do not provide them for any other reason.

  5. Check delivery and return policies 
    Before completing an online transaction, read the delivery and return policies on the online store’s home page. Find out if you can return items and who bears the cost.

  6. Keep a record of your transactions 
    Keep a record of your transactions - just in case you need to return an item or have a question about your purchase.
