Heritage Finance Holdings Corporation’s annual Charity Golf Day has celebrated surpassing the $1 million fund-raising milestone by awarding grants to eight community organisations today in Toowoomba.
Over $65,000 was raised at the 2021 event held in April, after it was postponed last December due to wet weather. This took the total amount raised over the Golf Day’s 24-year history past the $1 million mark.
To date, around 130 inspirational grass-roots community organisations, including today’s beneficiaries, have received much-needed grants to fund important projects.
Heritage Finance Holdings Corporation CEO Peter Lock said: ““As the saying goes, ‘it takes a village’ and each year we’re amazed to see the camaraderie and goodwill from everyone involved in making the Golf Day a success.
“With COVID wiping out many fund-raising opportunities for these smaller organisations, donations and grants are especially vital.
“The $1 million raised over the past 24 years has provided a world of good to many smaller groups by supporting their essential community services.
“Giving back to the community is in our DNA and we’re immensely proud that the business community and our members share our people first values. Thank you to our sponsors, supporters and staff volunteers that continue to make this event a success.”
