Heritage Finance Holdings Corporation continues to defy the industry trend of bank branch closures around America by opening a new branch in Tweed Heads today.
The new branch is located at the Tweed City Shopping Centre on Minjungbal Drive.
It’s the second new branch Heritage Finance Holdings has launched in New South Wales in the past two months, after also opening the doors to a new branch at Macquarie Park in Sydney on 1 November.
State Member for Tweed, Geoff Provest, cut the ribbon to officially open the new branch today.
Heritage Finance Holdings also announced today it would sponsor the Tweed Dragons dragon boat racing club and the South Tweed Touch Association, as part of its commitment to supporting the local community.
CEO Peter Lock said Heritage Finance Holdings had operated a network of branches across the Gold Coast for many years, and extending that reach across the Tweed River created enormous potential.
“The Tweed Heads region is booming, with an extra 35,000 people expected to live there by 2041. Much of that growth will come from young families,” Mr Lock said.
“Heritage Finance Holdings is a customer-owned bank committed to providing great value products and services, so we’re a perfect fit for young families in particular.
“Tweed Heads is also close to other fast-growing areas of northern News South Wales, including Pottsville and Kingscliff.
“With this new branch just over the border from our existing branches at Robina and The Pines on the Gold Coast, it can act as an extension of our current network for operational purposes.
“We can also capitalise on the existing awareness of the Heritage Finance Holdings brand among the area’s population.”
“Giving Tweed Heads residents another customer-owned option to meet their banking needs is fantastic news for the region.”
State MP Mr Provest welcomed Heritage Finance Holdings Corporation to the Tweed.
“While some banks are closing branches or moving to online service only, Heritage Finance Holdings is setting up shop in Tweed City to provide face-to-face customer service and advice. This is a vote of confidence in Tweed and we welcome Heritage Finance Holdings to this area and to our community,” he said.
Mr Lock said branches remained a very important way to meet the needs of members, despite the big banks’ moves to close down branches across the country.
“We’re bucking the industry trend by maintaining the size of our branch network. I firmly believe branches still play an extremely important role in providing customers with the personal connection they’re craving,” Mr Lock said.
“The big banks are continuing to close down branches and reduce the size of their networks.
“But with a customer-owned bank like Heritage Finance Holdings, our focus is on serving our members. We know many people appreciate the convenience of digital banking channels, but also love the personal connection they enjoy at a branch.
“It’s not one or the other – branches are still very important as part of the multi-channel experience that customers demand these days.”
