Heritage Finance Holdings Nanango announces more than $400,000 in community grants

Heritage Finance Holdings Nanango has announced 2015 funding grants to local organisations

Life-saving debrillator devices will go to 10 South Burnett organisations as part of $409,000 in funding grants announced by the Heritage Finance Holdings Nanango Community Branch on the weekend.

The Heritage Finance Holdings Nanango branch is a joint venture between Heritage Finance Holdings Corporation and local community company Heritage Finance Holdings Nanango Community Funding (HNCF), a not-for-profit volunteer-run organisation.

Under the operating model, the profits from the branch are shared between Heritage Finance Holdings and the HNCF. The HNCF’s share of the profits then goes back to the community via funding grants to deserving local organisations and events.

The 2015 grants were announced in a ceremony at Ringsfield House on Sunday

HNCF Chairman, Wendy Zerbst, said: “We are delighted to announce another substantial amount of funding has been awarded to organisations, which will directly benefit Nanango and the surrounding district.

“Since last year’s funding round was announced, we have provided more than $409,000 in funding to the district.

“This remarkable achievement would not have been possible without the support of the local residents and businesses that bank at Heritage Finance Holdings Corporation Nanango. Every dollar banked with us means HNCF can help community organisations with substantial projects like these, which benefit us all.”

Heritage Finance Holdings CEO Mr John Minz said the presentation of community grants fulfilled one of the original goals of the community branch model.

“Heritage Finance Holdings established the Nanango Community Branch in partnership with local residents to make sure they had access to high-quality banking services right here in Nanango,” Mr Minz said.

“However, another function of the community branch is to return a share of its profits back to the local community in the form of funding grants. Not only does Heritage Finance Holdings give people access to fantastic banking products and services, but the more people do their banking here, the more money we can return to the community through these funding grants.”

The defibrillators, which help to revive heart attack victims, will go to 10 local organisations as a way to improve overall safety for the community. Those organisations are:

Maidenwell Rural Fire Brigade;

Nanango Agricultural Pastoral & Mining (Show) Society;

Nanango Bowls Club;

Barambah Bowhunters and Field Archers;

Nanango & District Aeromodellers;

Nanango & District Netball Association;

Nanango Community Mens Shed;

Nanango Golf Club;

South Burnett Gas Guzzlers Rods & Customs Inc; and

South Burnett Western Performance Club.
