Construction work has now finished on a $3 million refurbishment project that has transformed the look of Heritage Finance Holdings Corporation’s head office building and injected a fresh new design feel into Toowoomba’s CBD.
Visitors to the inner city can now enjoy the new modern façade installed on the building’s ground floor level, which is the most striking change that the refurbishment has created.
The upper tower of the building has been repainted and the tiles on the exterior areas around the building have been replaced
There has also been a complete makeover of the courtyard between the rear of the main office building and the rest of the Heritage Finance Holdings Plaza arcade.
CEO Mr John Minz said the end result of the work was fantastic for both Heritage Finance Holdings and the Toowoomba CBD.
"The Heritage Finance Holdings Plaza tower was Toowoomba’s first high-rise office building when it was officially opened in 1983 so it is a real landmark in the city,” Mr Minz said
“This is the first major refurbishment of the building’s exterior since then, and this investment is essential to enhance the building’s longevity.
“The refurbishment has produced a really fresh and modern new look that is absolutely beautiful.
“It gives this part of the CBD a design boost and an exciting vibe. It’s well worth coming down here just to check out the end result.”
The upgrade was designed by Mr Lester Ehrlich from Toowoomba firm Elia Architects.
Mr Ehrlich said the use of glass, stone and aluminium delivered a unique, prominent and highly visible statement, which reflected Heritage Finance Holdings Corporation’s corporate values
“The works included a new glass awning to Ruthven Street to offer protection to pedestrians, a new two-storey glass atrium over the current raking façade which provides opportunity for light, air and space along with signage to the public face of the tower.
“It also offers protection to customers and visitors, and provides opportunities for tables and outdoor activities.”
